511 Traffic & Travel Information - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet

511 Traffic & Travel Information - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet This is a good link to bookmark showing road conditions in Kentucky. Last night my many friends who used to be out with me on spills kept busy as always helping folks such as fighting fires in this weather, folks running off the road due to driving as if the roads had not changed, and at least one snow plow has been hit by a passenger vehicle. We stocked up and filled all the cars prior to the storm and other than getting out to feed the horses and getting soup to a friend we are put for the day. This is a good day to do indoor things and I may see if I can earn a hat in TF2 from Valve today. I got an invitation to join a UK clan last night playing on a server there. It is kind of neat to hear an Australian and a Britisher talking while I was a medic. Live long and prosper and stay warm. As long as I have power, I have heat, and I am sitting by a portable heater within sight of our emergency kerosene heater now. Last year's ice storm has me trained. I keep more camping supplies than most folks and more emergency stuff than most after 33 years in environmental spills so we have done what we could and for what we can't do ourselves, but depend upon a higher power we still give thanks. Biggest and brightest full moon of 2010 tonight - Space- msnbc.com

Biggest and brightest full moon of 2010 tonight - Space- msnbc.com

I grew up with maps from National Geographic on my wall in my room including the Moon with the craters named. It is very cold in Kentucky today, but a cold clear sky is still great for astronomy. We are blessed to have many nature treats in this world and one of the best is the night sky. After a day of watching junco's, chickadee's, tufted titmouse, red-bellied woodpecker, and a very happy fat squirrel dine on my bird feeders and suet stand, it can be nice while feeding the horse in the paddock to look up at the horizon and enjoy the light show. Have a great day and night of interest.

Back from Tai Chi class at MCC

Back tonight from Madisonville Community College after a day of creating Tai Chi DVD copies for class, and Picasa photo DVD's for hospice Christmas memories. I was lucky enough to go this Christmas with the Green River Hospice to tour three counties helping Santa deliver presents and badly singing as elf and reindeer. Today I saw my very thin doctor for my lab work follow up for cholesterol and then went on to class. I found Tai Chi to be very useful on lowering glucose levels by stress reduction. In a year where I lost Mom, was robbed in broad daylight with a rock heaved through my glass patio front door, and dealing with estates and insurance, I am hoping 2009 being over will lead to an easier 2010. Last weekend I went to two funerals, but I saw many good friends while I was there. I also enjoyed standing at the front porch to watch the two blue birds, junco's, chickadee's, and red bellied woodpecker at my bird feeders watch the fat squirrel who likes to steal from the bird feeders. Its sometimes a home and sometimes a menagerie. I am down to three rescued kitties and hope to have the free to a good home male fixed kitties with shots find a home. Diana being one with an aura, also found a strange unknown kitty flattened on the county road and got a shovel to bring it on our land to bury in the kitty cemetery. Getting married to Diana was like finding Aunt Luvena when it comes to critter. Now we have two rescue horses we are feeding helping the Equine Center along with our Belle our hoofed daughter who likes her foods and really liked me seeing her after a hair cut since I gave her a cut up apple as a treat during the visit and she likes her "foods". I am playing Team Fortress Classic on Steam as a medic recently and still working with some driver issues at times when my video card has troubles with Direct X 9. I had to search forums at length to find a work around even after getting every driver I had updated. It is a good card I installed from Computer Knights who built my computer and is very vivid on water effects especially. I was in 2 Fort recently watching the water lap in the pipe underneath. I play as tiggerr-42431 on multi-player. I like to relax with Bejeweled games and was playing most recently Star Wars Battlefront II. I have always enjoyed science fiction so games with a science bent I always enjoy. I like playing as a medic and I probably play 2 Fort the most as a map.

Nividia driver updates

I was having a lot of problems suddenly with Steam games on my account. It turned out the best way to get drivers to update your Nividia card like my GeoForce 9800 GTX+ is to not use Windows Update alone, but to go directly to the Nividia driver download page and update it there. The November 26th release date of the driver fixed all the problems in one move and water effects in the games are not gorgeous.

We managed to find homes for the two girl kittens we rescued today. Happy New Year.
