Meet The Staff :: Trover Health System
I can recommend the Green River Hospice staff as being useful to anyone facing life and death decisions. It is a lot more than just in the last 6 months of a person's life, it is all about making a person have compassionate, kind, caring people to support you in what could be a very lonely period of your life. Teresa is someone I think of as Big Heart who was there for me in conference when I most needed someone to talk to in a crisis for Mom's care. Hospice was there for me in heart and mind and I can recommend them to anyone. It is the only non profit service for hospice in our area and universally kind to anyone that comes to them for care in the physical and most importantly the emotional side of life. Dying in hospice is more about life affirming quality of respect for a person than just getting to the last heart beat. It is all about treating a person the way you would want to be treated if you were the patient. Meet The Staff :: Trover Health System

Curry Spices Reduce the Methane Found in Cow Farts by 40% | greenopolis recycling rewards
This also raises the idea that it might be that spices like tumeric being studied for anti colon cancer issues might also help the digestion of some folks burdened by digestive issues. If there are "10 million cows in UK producing 125 gallons per cow" per the article -I would not have used gallons as a unit- then this research might also help folks who have digestion efficiency issues. Ten Signs of a Fear-Based Workplace - Yahoo! Finance
One key to a happy career for me was I got to work under quality supervisors my whole career, cared about all my coworkers, had a healthy respect for each other, and knew how to work while being positive with each other. I used to enjoy going to work and in the field office I was lucky enough to work at some of my best role models in life were folks I worked with and for like Don Hayes, Charlie Basset, Phil Murdock, and John Martin at Earlington. Later I was able to have younger folks come in to my life like Jackie Logsdon, Greg, Ryan Hammack,Mark Lamar, Leland Steely,Gaye Brewer, Ed Carroll and Allan Kidd as coworkers and that gave a lot of happiness to my life. One thing was we were there for each other. We have sat up with each others kids, been to funerals, weddings, divorces, and dating phases in our lives and pulled for each other. I know any organization can mutate into what this article talks about, but the key is to put folks first, enjoy technology and use it to your benefit and make the goal of the group more important than any tool. All good folks that folks want to work for are people people who can be successful. There is a famous line about General Marshall, in West Point, where an officer was asked to judge Marshall as a cadet. He summed it up with the very apt line, "He is the kind of officer I want to serve under." I was very lucky in my career to have that feeling with the folks that helped me be a better employee, but most importantly a better person. Ten Signs of a Fear-Based Workplace - Yahoo! Finance

50th Anniversary of Famous Harper Lee Book, 'To Kill a Mockingbird' - ABC News
This was one of my favorite books when I was in school, but more to the point the movie is also one of my all time favorites. Atticus Finch is actually on some polls in the top of heroes in the movies and that includes the action heroes. Peck could radiate the kind of integrity this role needed, scout's actress in her only role I think was just a perfect child and one of the smartest characters as a child in any movie. The movie was an early one for Robert Duvall one of my favorite actors even before Lonesome Dove. 50th Anniversary of Famous Harper Lee Book, 'To Kill a Mockingbird' - ABC News

Living Will :: Florida Estate Planning Lawyer Blog
A living will comes up in Florida as much as it does in Kentucky. One important thing in Kentucky to think about is when should you make sure your will is current? An example if you are married, have a divorced son whose ex wife has custody of your only grandchild, then you might need to be thinking about how your will needs to be if both grandparents were killed in the same car wreck. I have a good friend whose only daughter was killed by a drunk driver and left underage children he will now have to raise. His will changed that day in effect for real practical reasons. If a will has been in the drawer for years at least you have one, but if things have changed in your life or the folks you wanted to leave things to, your best chance to do it right is to go to your lawyer that does your family business you trust like I go to Randy Teague locally, and make sure its current. and on file. Kentucky: Attorney General Jack Conway - Living wills in Kentucky
It is also good to know about living wills since you might find you need a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Issues to help in things like blood transfusion decisions separate from a Durable Power of Attorney for financial issues. A living will has a more specific coverage so your health agent is not burdened with some decisions if you are unable to speak or needing hospice care and making the decision to go into hospice for pain control instead of curing that which cannot be cured. It is wise to have it worked out in advance so when stress times come, family folks have it organized for them and simplified. If your patient is lucky enough to be sharp and communicative and able to make all health decisions for you then it does take a burden off the care giver, but one sudden post surgery stroke could unexpectedly change that status and you would have more hassles. Ideally its in writing so there is no confusion at the end. Kentucky: Attorney General Jack Conway - Living wills in Kentucky
Power of Attorney
When dealing with health and estate issues it is important to have paperwork that lets you talk to insurance company folks and sign papers. A common thing folks get shocked at when taking care of a patient is Social Security will not accept a power of attorney in Kentucky and probably most places. What you do is hand the patient the phone, let them authorize talking to them that day for that question and then do your SS business. If you the patient were to be unable to communicate or react to the questions over the phone from the SS office to let you talk, you have to get the doctor to fax to the SS office a guardian appointment for the POA person handling business and that SS activation is valid only so long as the doctor says they need a guardian looking out for them. It is wise before you get sick to: have your will signed and ready, a durable power of attorney covering the needs you have, and perhaps a living will on file ready in case you are unable to speak for yourself leaving out guesswork. It is also wise to review with your attorney if family conditions change to make sure its kept current. A good attorney like I have is a wonderful asset to your family's well being. I would not sign a lease without my attorney looking it over first. A fee to have it right the first time can save endless agony later. When handling the affairs of a sick relative or an estate, my best advice is to always strive to keep it moving forward in a smooth manner, use your outlook scheduler intensely for dates and deadlines, and always keep in the loop the case worker for Medicare you are dealing with in the hospital. Homework and doing communications so the case worker knows your situation and thinks of you as a person first and not a case number can make things move much more smoothly. My local attorney is Randy Teague and having someone like that in your corner made handling my estate issues so much easier and less stressful. I also recommend if you enter a hospice mode, go to the funeral home and pre-plan everything you can so its ready and at a most stressful time you do not have to deal with issues. If you can have the rock up already where only a death date has to be added it can help later, and if you have it down to the music and type of memory card you can think much more clearly when its not the day after being up all night in a hospice room. Most funeral homes now have a link that helps you preplan a funeral on line and you can use that as a guideline or outline of things to talk over when you meet in person. I did that with Barnett Strother funeral home and it helped me immensely, plus they were as good as gold to me. and made Mom look better than I dared hope after such a long illness. Power of Attorney
